Developer Platforms Are Rebuilding Around AI Assistants

Developer tooling is going through a real workflow shift. AI assistants are no longer a side feature attached to an editor. They are becoming part of how teams document systems, generate scaffolding, review code paths, and move through repetitive engineering work faster.
That does not mean software teams can lower their standards. In fact, the opposite is happening. As generation gets easier, architecture clarity, review discipline, and ownership boundaries matter more. Teams need better prompts, better conventions, and better guardrails to make assisted development productive.
The platforms that stand out right now are the ones that help teams move faster without making the codebase harder to trust. That balance is becoming the real measure of useful AI in engineering.
